If you are running Vista or Windows 7 you MUST run EVERYTHING "as administrator" PERIOD. No exceptions.
Lock on
Stick profiling software like Saitek SST, Foxy, & CH manager
Track IR profiling software
Hyperlobby
Teamspeak
Ventrilo
Right click the desktop icon
select properties
check the run as admin box
Choose "xp service pack 2(or 3)" for the compatibility mode.
NOTICE: It is not enough to right click the icon and select "run as admin" right from the list. You MUST go into "properties" Why? I have no idea. Brilliant Bill strikes again.
You might notice that HL is also missing several textures in Vista & possibly Win-7- read this

hi, was just wondering if any patches/upgrades are also needed for lock on to work on a vista OS?

If you patch up to the latest version- 1.12b- you will be fully up to date for the Vista OS.
It involves a payware add on, (flaming cliffs version 1.1) and then a free patch (1.12b).
